My life in computer processors Posted: 01 Dec 2020 01:23 PM PST I framed all the processors I've owned over the years. Each one is a phase from my life, putting this together was surprisingly nostalgic. It's been fun how each one brings back so many memories. The shadowboxes are 3d printed, cricut vinyl for the labels, I even cut the glass myself too. Not pictured is the 2600x that was handed down to my 14 year old son when he built his own computer and the 3600x I am typing this on. [link] [comments] |

What happened to high accuracy GPS chips? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 12:07 PM PST A couple of years ago Broadcomm announces high-accuracy GPS receiver chips (BCM47755 ) that could do 30cm resolution. Last I heard this only made it into one android phone. Did iPhone never attempt to use this? I read that the new iPhone 12's are supporting the chinese satellites, but haven't heard much about accuracy. [link] [comments] |

Phison E18 based NVME SSD's (Sabrent Rocket 4 plus) Posted: 01 Dec 2020 07:52 AM PST It looks like the first Phison E18 based SSD is available for sale now, the Sabrent Rocket 4 plus. I am debating getting one, but I find it odd that there are ZERO reviews for the drive. For how expensive it is, I don't think I want to buy it without first confirming its performance. The reviews of E18 based beta SSD's seem to indicate fantastic performance, however. Does anyone know why not a single hardware review site has done a review yet? [link] [comments] |
