    Greetings /r/hardware!

On Friday, starting at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST we will have an AMA with representatives from Nixeus Technology, Spectre Inc, and Gigabyte's Monitor Groups - as well as special guest Chief Blurbusters!

We'll be starting off the AMA by answering the pre-selected questions from the original announcement thread - and of course the representatives will be answering questions you post in Friday's AMA thread as well.

Computing Limitation, and what superconductors can do for them. (Question/Discussion)

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 06:00 AM PDT

I'm doing some worldbuilding, which includes relatively easy access to superconductors. For this, these superconductors are at least room temperature ones, so supercooling is not an issue.

Doing some reading, I see the main limitation to computers is the fact that they make heat. Usage of superconductors would completely remove that, but what happens after? Now that there's no heat to worry about, do CPU clocks increase hilariously? Do we run into something else that prevents further speed increases?

I imagine nobody would continue using copper-based computing technology.

Also, if people could kindly provide further reading, that'd be nice.

Would an AI created with a machine learning tax the system that much?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 06:47 AM PDT

So, I know that creating an AI using ML is intensely computational, but what about just running one that's already trained? Aren't dlss and rtx voice just that, trained AIs? Is there a significant difference between the AI that run those and one that controls the enemy units?
