PSA: ADATA has secretly changed its 4tb drives from TLC to QLC

The ADATA SX8100 4TB drive has been on sale lately and has been popular on Reddit. It was also featured on Anandtech.com this week as a recommended high capacity drive, specifically due to the fact that it is a TLC option at 4TB.

The drive is advertised as TLC, but the drive I received today is QLC. ADATA has secretly changed the specifications of the drive, while still advertising the drive as TLC. Stay away!

The S40G is identical to the SX8100 apart from the LED lighting, so we can assume this drive has been secretly changed as well.

    Edit: Photo Evidence

Edit: Advertised as TLC on Newegg; Advertised as TLC on ADATA official eBay store
