Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:43 AM PST As most of you certainly know, power loss can destroy data on an SSD. Not only uncommitted data in DRAM and cache can vanish but the way cell reprogramming works also means on-disk, flushed, data can be corrupted. Enterprise drives are usually provided with supercaps to give the drive enough juice to flush its cache. Client drives apparently provide at least data-at-rest anti-corruption capabilities in firmware. Two questions:
