Hardware support: Why doesn't AMD use the LGA approach with ryzen that Intel uses on their recent CPUs by having the pins on the mobo socket instead of the back of the CPUs? Also will there ever be a safer way for CPU and mobo sockets to interact in the future without risk of crushed pins?

I'm curious, do SATA backplanes dictate the SATA version or are they all about direct connection of the pins on the disk to the pins on the back of the backplane?

    Thanks
