Remember the old "Unlimited Detail" video promising infinite rendering detail using voxel rendering, how cool is it now that UE5 Nanite made that a practical and usable reality.

I saw this video on my homepage and it sparked a memory from long ago of the "Unlimited Detail" video by Euclideon technology. I remember being amazed at what they were showing, and their extravagant claims definitely made big waves at the time. Now 9 years later, we've arrived at this reality. I think it's so cool that UE5 made nanite, and I really hope that we get games pretty soon that use that technology.

Edit: I want to clarify that these are not the same technology, what's really cool is the ability to design with complete detail and render with as much detail per pixel that can be displayed.

What foundries do with slightly defective console APUs?

They manufacture tens of millions of those. Conventional wisdom goes that defective dies are repurposed for lower performance products.
