    Hey all!

    Built this wonderful PC that I love so much, but I have a tiny apartment and no where to use it as it deserves. So I'm hoping to find a suitably powerful laptop to take over as my workstation (gaming, video editing, data analysis/processing).

    My PC specs:

    • Ryzen 9 3900X
    • ASUS ROG X570 mITX motherboard
    • Lian-Li Q39 Case: https://www.lian-li.com/pc-q39/ (I truly love this case. Like a 'big' ITX. Well suited for water cooling if you're in to that)
    • 64GB G.Skill Trident (2x32) 3200MHz
    • Asus ROG Strix 5700XT
    • 512GB NVME SSD NOTE: Sorry, this is actually just a WD Blue m.2 drive. Apologies, I checked the speed and it clearly isn't an NVME drive. I put that drive in my laptop :D
    • 500GB 2.5" SSD
    • 4TB HDD
    • Corsair RM750 PSU (not a full set of cables, but I have 2 GPU, 24Pin, CPU 8-Pin, and 1 or 2 peripheral power cords, the rest have gotten away it seems)

    I love this system, and I'll keep if I can't get a decent trade. I'll just have to use it as a remote server or something :(

    But here's what I'm looking/hoping for!

    Laptop specs (desired):

    • 6 core/12 thread minimum (8 preferred) (i7 10875, 4800HS, etc etc)
    • 2060 minimum (2070 preferred, or 5600M minimum for AMD laptop)
    • 16GB RAM (32 would be nicer, 64 would be amazing, but an upgrade path minimum)
    • 15/17 inch screen fine too (no small portables, I have one), either 1080p high refresh or 4k 60
    • Unique gimmick? Second screen etc would be fun
    • No dual power brick PCs if possible - that's too much to carry around when I do need the processing power at work.

    Examples I would be excited about that I can think of:

    • Razer Blade Pro
    • Razer Blade
    • Alienware M17
    • Gigabyte Aero
    • Aorus of some kind
    • Something I'm not thinking of offhand

    Since there is no way I want to ship my system, I'm hoping for local within ~2 hours of the DC/VA/MD metro area.

    Ideally I'm hoping for a trade, no cash either way. I recognize these laptops likely cost more than the desktop outright, but they won't keep up with the cores, power, etc of the desktop. Hopefully someone out there has a powerful laptop but has space to settle down with a kickin' desktop and is ready to take the plunge.

    I feel like this is a long shot, but here's to hoping!

    I am in Northern VA.

    I'm looking for a smaller home for my 3570k / mATX. The cost of a used Z77 ITX motherboard around-the-web is way too high (well over original MSRP) and I'm patient enough to wait. I should be able to do this with a new case, motherboard and probably PSU, but I'm mainly looking for a motherboard right now.

    Note that it would need to be a Z77 - I can't overclock otherwise.

    That said, if the price is low enough, I'd consider a performant-replacement ITX combo of some sort and I'd resell what I have left over in a separate post.

    Hey folks,

    Been making tons of progress so far on my ITX build, and am now hunting a key component: Graphics. I'm looking along the lines of spending 140-160 for a card and shipping.

    As stated, hunting for cards such as; GTX 1060 (6GB), GTX 1660, GTX 980(trying to be careful with size and power requirements on these) or their Radeon Equivalents. Open to any manufacturer, including OEM, but particularly biased towards MSI.

    [USA-TX][H] Acer Predator Helios 700 17.3" Laptop RTX 2080 (180w) [W] Paypal / Local Cash

    I purchased this laptop from Microcenter on July 4th 2020.

    Comes with warranty! (July 4th 2021, see details and album for proof).

    This only comes with laptop and 330w charger. Does not include magforce keys.

    The bad:

    It came with two keys that were broken. It's under warranty and can still be sent in to Acer to be fixed under warranty.

    Also it's heavy... 10 lbs for laptop and 5 lbs for charger (330w). It's a thicc laptop.

    Dont count on battery life, it is like 1 hr or less.

    The Very Good:

    Comes with warranty! (July 2021, see details and album for proof).

    This is a beast system (with 500 memory/150 core OC) scoring 10k in Timespy with OC (10.9k in Graphics). I cannot think of many systems with this kind of power! This is 2.3% below an RTX 2080 DESKTOP gpu with 3dmark Timespy avg scoring 11,183 in graphics (that includes alot of overclocked RTX 2080's). It outperforms many desktop 2080 gpu's.

    Otherwise in Boosted mode it scores around 10.3k graphics and 9.5k timespy, which is about 6-7% less than a RTX 2080.

    This is capable of 3440x1440 ultra settings gaming, and definitely capable of 144 hz gaming with ease on its 1080p screen. G sync is awesome. 4 hours of Red Dead Redemption gaming at 3440x1440 (.8 res scale, I use this even on my 2080 ti system) MAXED settings yielding 0 stutters or throttling issues. It was smooth gaming all the way.

    Fan/Noise

    Temps stay under 70c for gpu and 76c for cpu with auto fan, which can get very loud but keeps temps nice and chilly. Fan can be fixed to a specific rpm, and doesnt seem to be overridden see below examples.

    I tested 1600 rpm and got high temps, 92c-97c on CPU and 78c for GPU but got good timespy score. At 2600 rpm which is quiet for gaming it was around 75c on cpu and 68c on gpu.

    Warranty is good until July 4th 2021. Warranty is transferable, see link.
