Posted: 13 Jun 2020 06:33 PM PDT 1.5 years (!!!) after the MG07 was announced, Toshiba's MG07 and MG08 lines have finally hit US retail availability. I'm not sure how long this has been the case; I just need a new HDD for my Veeam migration and found out in the course of shopping. 14 TB copped :) Ironically, both lines now seem to be the only datacenter 4Kn HDDs available. Couldn't find any WD UltraStar or Seagate Exos X 4Kn units anywhere, and WD Golds are 512e/n only. Fair warning, these things aren't Best Buy sale cheap, but here are the lowest SATA Standard prices from reputable retailers I could find:
Given how unobtainable these have been over the past 2 years, I don't expect them to last long once word gets out you can buy them in less than a pallet at a time, so don't be shy about pulling the trigger if you can swing it. [link] [comments] |
