How much longer do you think it will be, before the heat created by PCs for personal use (and mainly gaming) is going to become unbearable?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 10:03 AM PDT

Having bought an RTX card last year and experienced the heat it produces at peak performance, I am starting to wonder how much longer it will be, until we get to a point when it will no longer be bearable to be in the same room with your PC when gaming or running calculations. Do you think that there is an improvement on the horizon, which will improve the ratio of performance produced per unit of electricity? Or do you think that the next phase of improving performance will be about optimizing the drawing algorithms of GPUs and game engines? Or will we simply see the scope of what is possible to depict on a personal computer plateau? Will gaming move to the cloud?

I have no answers, so I'm wondering, if there's anyone here, who's already given it some thought.

What Are Some Researched Alternatives to Chemical Mechanical Polishing for Planarization?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 11:42 AM PDT

It seems like Chemical Mechanical Polishing, which is basically using a brush and a slurry to "grind" down a wafer, seems to be the standard in the industry right now. What are other alternatives that have been looked into for Planarization?
