    Variable rate shading with eyetracking

    Posted: 09 Dec 2021 09:14 PM PST

In this blog Nvidia dwells into better use of VRS for VR with eyetracking. I'm wondering why doesn't developers see opportunity to make use of eyetracking to do the same for traditional games?

Putting eyetracking device on monitor is one way, but maybe eyetracking glasses would give leeway to do it better. Sure glasses may not look ideal but we went from bulky computers and brick phones to thin ultrabooks and smartphones. So if such glasses became standard for gaming I can imagine them becoming better. If you can gain significantly more performance by buying a not so expensive glasses, why not?

Glasses could also be used for other functions like moving camera angle, and aiming with eyes for singleplayer games (accessibility). I am no developer so I ask..is this a missed opportunity? How feasible is it? What are issues from executing this concept well?

I've been on their website and checked out their software called igame center for the lighting on the colorful logo which is on the gpu. But the software doesnt even recognise that there is lighting on the gpu? whereas everytime i've seen the few youtube videos with the same gpu the logo lights up. Its been bothering me for a week now, any help will be appreciated thank you!
