I have a RTX 3060 Ti, andd i wonder wich monitor i should get?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 01:27 AM PDT

I have a 3060 Ti Gamig Z Trio and im going to pair it with a 5600x, and i wonder wich monitor i should get. I want a 1440p 240hz monitor, so i want to get a samsug odyssey g7, since i have a brother that is running the g5, and its been running flawlely so far, but i want opinions on what i should get. I will be running a 1080p 60hz monitor as a second screen.

Edit: I was convinced to get 144hz instead, so if you could recommend a 1440p 144hz monitor with good colors and picture quality that would be great, budget around at $500

Edit 2: After all the positive reviews of the LG ultragear 27GL850-B I have decided to go for that!

Edit 3: Also if you got the time, I could really need help with my complete build here for more info

Edit 4: I just picked up the LG ultragear one so I'm not gonna reply to more comments, thank you all!

Thank you all for your help!

What is the best PC case for $150USD or less?

Is my PC actually decent or not?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 06:57 AM PDT

I paid 800€ on this PC but it can't run some games my PS4 can (for example BFV is unplayable, Life is Strange 2 stutters, Forza Horizon 4 stutters a lot too, games will be crashing all the time, etc).

There's no way my build is that bad, please help me out:

Hello there, I'm thinking of getting a Gaming PC for my son on a "Budget" with these specs (since the graphics card prices are touching skies due to this whole pandemic/ mining thing). He want to play GTA Online, Witcher 3 and more story driven games, So I'm kinda confused if these specs are fine for gaming in upcoming years since I'm also on a budget and I'm a complete noob when it comes to PC because I haven't had that much of experience with PC Gaming. So, please let me know your opinion and thoughts. Thanks!

    RTX 3090 and CPU

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 02:43 AM PDT

Hey! I'm planning on building a gaming rig/workstation. The current parts i have in mind are:

RTX 3090 (yes i know how the GPU market is rn)

    AMD Ryzen 9 5950X or Intel i9-10900k

    128gb ram at 3600mhz

My question is: Should i got with the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X or the Intel i9-10900k. I prefer AMD but i was watching some of Linus his videos and he said that the Intel i9-10900k was better. I wanna know if i can still use the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with the RTX 3090!

    Ty in advance.

    IPS or TN monitors?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 07:40 AM PDT

I play high level Valorant and CSGO, so I need a monitor with a high refresh rate and low latency. Sounds like TN should be an easy choice, but after getting used to IPS displays, TN looks hideous for me now.

    1. How far have IPS monitors come to compete against TN monitors in terms of performance?

    2. If IPS monitors are great for competitive use, what monitor would you recommend for, let's say 300-500$ canadian?

    confused about 120hz, 144hz and 240hz

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 01:25 PM PDT

what's the actual difference between them? I had this question for a long time, if my build can run 180 fps but my monitor refresh rate is 144hz, will it only show like 144 fps out of the 180 fps? so like for other refresh rates.

RTX3060 claimed from a Newegg shuffle. Did I overpay??

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 08:16 AM PDT

Recently was able to claim an RTX3060 from a Newegg shuffle to upgrade from a 1660Ti. Price listed in the shuffle was $470 which obviously is above msrp but recently have had other people telling me I overpayed even though finding anything even close to msrp is basically impossible now. Thoughts?

    Help me choose a cpu

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 07:09 AM PDT

Hi guys. So I am looking for a cpu, I can't choose. My budget is 1.2k for gpu, mobo, and cpu. I'm able to get gpu at msrp. I'd like best price to performance. If there's no difference between 5800x and 10700K, then I'm saving 200 bucks. Thank you for any input, have a great day.

    MOBO with S/PDIF?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 12:31 PM PDT

Does anyone know of a motherboard with an S/PDIF output thats got a B450 chipset? I am wanting to build for the first time and have a surround sound that I want to use as my speakers. My cpu is going to be a ryzen 5 2600 and I dont really need a B550. Im also looking for something that is under $150 but if its unavoidable then its not that big of a deal. Im also open to adapters if those are a thing.

I was lucky to get a ZOTAC 3080 near release and now have enough money for a PC build. Thoughts?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 12:06 PM PDT

    Intel Core i9-10900k

    NZKT Kraken X53 CPU Cooler

    Asus TUF Gaming Z590-PLUS

    G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 tb M.2-2280 NVME SSD

NZKT H710 ATX Mid Tower Case

    EVGA G3 750 W 80+ Gold PSU

And of course, a ZOTAC RTX 3080 Trinity GPU

And yes I do want to go all out my previous PC that was built in 2015 has lasted me until now with heavy gaming at 1440p but the components are so old (mobo specifically doesn't support new CPUs) that I really just need to build a new PC.

Can I this MBA support playing guitar via Focusrite Scarlet Solo without getting overloaded

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 12:36 PM PDT

So I'd like to plug an electric guitar via scarlet into the pc and record in a digital audio station my playing. I don't know anything about motherboards and these audio interfaces working together, so I was wondering if this MBA will have problems handling it. I know back in the day people use to buy "sound cards" for Motherboards but I heard using Scarlet it's easier. Anyone with some knowledge on this, please share your thoughts.

The point is that you don’t know it’s there

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 09:17 AM PDT

I had been looking to upgrade from my i7-4790/GTX 1070 workhorse built in 2015 for quite a while not but the great GPU drought made that difficult. I finally got lucky with an AMD direct purchase of a 6800xt and rebuilt. I have been looking for a 3070/80 but decided that I'd buy and run whatever I could get that was comparable. My rule was that it had to be MSRP. I'm not interested in paying scalper prices. I got the 6800xt from AMD direct buy and while I was originally considering an i7 10700k or similar, I went with the 5800x Ryzen because I wanted to make use of PCIE 4. I also got that $75 off paypal deal to get the 5800x from B&H.

I kept the Silverstone because I like my case. It fits under my TV well and you don't even know its there. I run under the house and up about 25 feet away to dual monitors for desk/photography work. The case is a little tricky to build in and I ended up moving the hard drives in a different spot than I used to have them to make room for a different cooler.

Overall, I'm really pleased with it. It took a little fiddling with ryzen master but I undervolted the 5800x and it runs less than 70c under full load in cinebench or gaming. With the 6800xt it is doing solid gaming (120fps at 4k). I'm also exporting pictures for my business significantly faster.

Ignore my TV stand. It looks like crap and I haven't found anything I'm satisfied with that looks good and keeps kids out.

Do I need to upgrade my CPU to make my 3060 ti perform at max capacity.

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 11:45 AM PDT

I've been doing some recent tests on my PC. My current specs are i5 9600k and a 3060 ti. Looking at the usage with MSI after burner my CPU sits at 100% and my GPU around 40-50. Sometimes my CPU drops to in the 90s and then my GPU goes up a little to the 60s. I play at 1080p. Is this bottlenecking and do I need to upgrade my CPU. If so which CPU do you recommend for a 3060 ti at 1080p. I changed my resolution to a higher resolution and my cpu usage dropped and my GPU usage went to 80-90%

    Corsair AX850 meets 4pin, 8 pin, & 3 PCI-E cables

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 01:43 PM PDT

Looking to see if there are any solutions other than buying a new PSU.

    Corsair AX850

Z490 Aorus Ultra (10900k on water)

    EVGA 3080 FTW3

    I currently have:

4-pin EPS/ATX12V cable plugged into the motherboard

8-pin EPS/ATX12V cable plugged into the motherboard

24-pin ATX cable plugged into the motherboard

    2 PCI-E 8-pin cables running to the 3080

    I'm short 1 8-pin PCI-E cable for the 3080

Can I power the 4-PIN slot from the CPU or one of the 8-PIN's for the GPU off one of the smaller 6 slot connections on the Corsair AX850? If so, does anyone have a link to cable that would work.

I got a 3080ti now I’m looking for a cpu was wondering if a 5600x is good enough to handle a 3080ti or if I’d need to get a better one.

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 01:41 PM PDT

So I'm gonna be mainly gaming. Games like Minecraft, Fortnite, warzone, apex, gta, Genshin, gta, Rocket league, fifa. I'll also be doing a little bit of streaming and I'll be doing school work and watching things as well. Is a 5600x good enough for all these tasks? And if not which cpu should I go for. Thx

MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 Ti worth it?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 01:05 PM PDT

I was able to get an order in for $1,750 on Amazon after a shit ton of attempts for various 3080 Ti and 3080s. Was hoping to get the Gigabyte one for $1,450 but that's pretty much impossible.

Could get the Asus ROG Strix RTX 3080 Ti OC if I tried for $2k but don't really want to spend that much. According to Amazon my order should arrive Oct 7-11 so I have until then to try to pick up a Gigabyte 3080 Ti
