Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:38 AM PDT Pierre-Loup Griffais, one of Valve's Linux developers who has worked on SteamOS, Proton, and the Steam Deck, has said that the games they tested and showed exceeded 30 fps. He also said there will also be an optional built-in FPS limiter to fine-tune perf vs. battery life. [link] [comments] |

Anyone heard or has experience with HDMI Ethernet Channel? Internet through a HDMI cable (tech) Posted: 25 Jul 2021 12:41 PM PDT This pertains to gaming. I am a patient gamer at heart and with life circumstances, I'm looking for ways to enjoy this hobby as seamless as possible. With the advent of cloud gaming (GeForce now and xcloud) , I'm finding that I can game with very little material investment in it ie a console or a rig system. Currently gaming on my MacBook Now I've been getting into raspberry pi and as frustrating as it as been (who knew connecting a Xbox remote with Bluetooth with be such a disaster) I see real potential here. A small streaming box where I can call up games with a simple set up. Now if I'm traveling, I'm not at the whim of hotel rooms entertainment, I can do my thing. So this brings me to my initial title, has anyone had experience with HEC or HDMI Ethernet Channel cables? I'm trying to source one out but I've been getting weird devices instead of an hdmi cable and articles from 10-12 years ago talking about this as the future. My idea is connecting my smart tv directly into my router and using that wired connection to those stable speeds to my laptop/raspberry to these streaming services. If one cable can do it all, I'd rather have that then a bunch of dongles/wires and accessories clogging up the back of my tv. Any info is appreciated here. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Regarding 10 gigabit adapters. Posted: 26 Jul 2021 02:23 AM PDT Why are all 10 Gbe adapters thunderbolt only. Shouldn't USB 3.2 Gen 2 have enough bandwidth for 10 Gbe? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:47 PM PDT I know this is good cause it lowers temperature on my laptop and helps protect components for long term. The question might be dumb but want to now if there is any other con outside of laptop running slower ? [link] [comments] |
