Should review graphs be sorted by 1% lows instead of averages? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 01:14 AM PDT I believe sorting graphs by 1% lows would be much more valuable to the consumer. In my opinion 1% lows are much more important to the overall experience, especially when they differ vastly from the average. Average being the sorting option is a relict of time when people didn't know 1% lows are measurable and how much they impact gameplay. This is especially annoying when some review outlets sort by average and randomness in case of the same average result. You can get a product with 100 fps average and 39 1% lows placed higher on the performance graph than a product with 100 fps average and 70 1% lows for unknown reasons. If it were up to me I'd sort graphs using the following:
Similarly, any cost per frame calculations should IMHO be done based on 1% lows. [link] [comments] |
