Posted: 24 Apr 2021 02:14 AM PDT Hi i just want to share my almost traumatic experience with the mx-5 and i don't know if it's just related to this thermal paste. When i mounted my new pc with my new arctic cooling liquid freezer II i did spread the mx-5 (first time in my life, usually i do the mini point trick for each die). Yesterday i disassembled everything to replace the motherboard but in the process of removing the cooler i found out it was stuck. Unfortunately i did have the bright idea to pull a bit stronger and BAM the cooler came out with the whole processor but the socket lever was down (PANIK). The processor was glued to the copper plate of the dissipater and after a bit of strong twisting it came out. I did a bit of a mess with the excess paste because it went a bit on the pins but with a bit of isopropyl alcohol it went away leaving just some small residue. Installing the processor with a 45° angle fixed the bended frontal pins but in the end everything worked fine. Sorry but i don't have any photo or video to prove it, i was panicking hard. Just pay attention on the amount you use. [link] [comments] |

Highly recommended [link] [comments] |
