Are there non-gaming benefits to using more recent generations of graphics cards? Posted: 26 Apr 2021 10:18 PM PDT Would there be any practical benefit from a more modern GPU outside of GPU-intensive work? Obviously, something that's too old to support modern display resolutions would be noticeably inferior, but what about the difference between something like a 1050 and a 3060? Would there be any benefit in terms of visual quality or even things like OS animations and ordinary things like that? (I'm honestly probably just kind of trying to find an excuse to put a better card in my planned Alder Lake build later this year, despite not gaming very much. I realize the pricing issues could likely be a problem for a while, but in any case, I've been curious about this for a while.) [link] [comments] |
