Question: x86 memory ordering on Apple A14? Posted: 27 Apr 2021 08:06 AM PDT Does Apple A14 Bionic support x86 memory ordering? It uses the same Firestorm and Icestorm cores as M1. Additionally, since Rosetta runs on the A12Z, does that imply that all iPhones and iPads since the iPhone XS (A12) can technically run MacOS? In fact, using Geekbench through Rosetta, the A12Z offers 73% of native performance (source: iMore) compared to M1's 79% of native performance (source: MacRumours). This seems pretty good for a presumably unmodified iPhone CPU core. [link] [comments] |
