Why do so many USB-C hubs only support USB 3.0? Posted: 06 Mar 2021 08:40 AM PST USB 3.1 gen 2 10Gbps has been out for 7 years, yet for some reason nearly every USB-C hub I see on Amazon only supports 5Gbps USB 3.0. USB 3.2 since 2017, and now USB4 in 2019. Are they just using cheap chipsets? Not enough bandwidth to share? Something else? If anyone has a good recommended USB-C hub that supports USB 3.1 gen 2, PD charging pass-through, ethernet, and 4k 60hz HDMI support let me know! (this may be a thunderbolt thing only) [link] [comments] |

Potential and capabilities of 3D stacked Sram Posted: 06 Mar 2021 04:27 AM PST The semiconductor industry is currently engaging in significant research and investment for 3D stacked sram on logic architectures. As numerous major companies such as Samsung, TSMC, Intel and Skywater technologies have all commited significant investment and research with planned commercialisation of the technology within five to ten years. In regard to these 3D stacked Sram architectures, what performance benefits and new capabilities should we expect in both the gaming and artificial intelligence domains. [link] [comments] |
