Alternative typing and input interfaces Posted: 18 Mar 2021 02:53 PM PDT I'm interested in alternative ways to interact with a computer, especially typing or inputting characters and text. Has anyone compiled any kind of review article or encyclopedic book on a topic like different ways of typing? I think I once saw a "typing wand", which was sort of a joystick you hold in your hand. I've also seen a swiping system developed by a professor somewhere in the western US. And there has been some early work in mind-sensing technology. I especially am interesting in any very cheap typing interfaces that can type really fast but is really mobile and portable - you could type even while walking or lying down. Maybe it could be a handheld small object, or maybe some kind of wristband. It would need a special typing system to make fast typing possible. Has anyone worked on this yet, before I start trying to develop it myself? Thanks very much. [link] [comments] |
