Does DDR5 RAM make the whole Intel CPU warranty voiding thing if you use XMP a moot point? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 09:06 AM PST As I understand it, overvolting RAM during overclocking can damage the memory controller in the CPU. However since DDR5 has the RAM voltage regulator on the DIMM, can't the DIMM ensure standard voltages are presented to the CPU's memory controller and any overvolting is internal to the RAM? This way the memory controller can't get damaged. [link] [comments] |
