I regret buying the Corsair HS70 wireless headset Posted: 26 Feb 2021 12:33 AM PST Before I get into it I just want to say I actually love this headset. Its by far my favorite headset I own. I use it all the time. Working out, cooking dinner, doing chores. I use them regularly throughout the day and I have no complaints about that. But recently I've noticed its battery capacity has definitely diminished. I cannot make it through a 3-4 hour period of use before they have to be plugged in now. So I start googling for a replacement battery. That's when I find out the battery in this headset is basically impossible to switch out for the average person. The wires from the battery are soldered onto a board. Its a cheap generic battery that you could easily order off amazon but attaching it to the board seems nearly impossible for anyone except a small group of people. This design decision has told me everything I need to know about corsair as a company. If I wanted to be treated like this I would own apple products where they outright encourage you to throw it away and purchase another. Its completely wasteful and greedy. I prefer not to waste the entire product when 1 easily replaceable component has reached the end of its life.... what a disappointment. PC peripherals with this kind of design attitude seems like a big mistake. You guys should go after the apple market they seem to not mind being treated this way. [link] [comments] |
