A question about the design choices around NVME board placement. Posted: 13 Jan 2021 02:47 PM PST I've noticed since I began using NVME hard drives that they tend to become very hot, especially when installed under the GPU. Why didn't they design them to insert sideways like ram for better all around cooling and easier install/swap? Wouldn't sideways take up less space than flush to the board? Did they choose placement based on where they need to be in relation to the PCI lanes? [link] [comments] |
