[USA-CA] [H] PayPal [W] GPU for budget build w/ 1x6-pin Posted: 27 Aug 2020 04:52 AM PDT Hi Hardwareswap! As the title says, I'm looking for a GPU to round out a budget build. As we're in The Great Power Supply Shortage of 2020, this build is stuck with an Antec 380W power supply. The rest of the build is pretty low power (i5-3470). Budget: ~$100 I'd be looking mainly for a GTX 1060, RX470/570 480/580 or even a standard GTX 1650. I'm open to anything in that price range so let me know what you have! Might also consider a 1660 if the price is right. Thanks all! EDIT: Local to 95822 for local sales. EDIT2: Reposting due to title constraint. I think it was pricing figure in title? Otherwise I don't know lol. [link] [comments]

[USA-WV] [H] PayPal [W] 2080 super/2080 ti Posted: 27 Aug 2020 07:44 AM PDT Looking to upgrade to a higher end 2000 series card as I don't think my PSU and Case could handle a 3080/3090. I would be willing to spend somewhere in the $500-$600 range for a 2080 super and in the $800-$900 for a 2080 ti depending on the manufacturer and model. Please leave comment before PMing. Thanks! [USA-NY][H] Silicon Lottery delidded Intel 7990x, Asus x299 WS PRO/SE [W] Local cash Posted: 27 Aug 2020 06:28 AM PDT I would like to sell some unused computer parts as I have recently upgraded my PC. I purchased both of these components new and have used them for years. The CPU was purchased from microcenter and then was sent to Silicon Lottery (https://siliconlottery.com/) to be binned and delidded (w/ liquid metal applied). The Silicon Lottery binning results stated that the CPU is stable with an overclock at 4.8ghz (all cores) with a core voltage of 1.25v and I can verify that it was stable for me at those settings with some mild AVX offsets applied. I would like to sell these items locally (NYC) if possible, asking price is $700 for both items. Posted: 26 Aug 2020 07:37 PM PDT Hello, r/hws! I bought a Zephyrus G14 about a month ago from Best Buy, but I've decided to get a cheaper laptop and desktop combo instead of just a powerful laptop, so I'm looking to sell the G14. Sorry for the essay that's coming up, but I want to go over some issues I've seen on the G14 subreddit and how they apply to this unit so anyone interested can know exactly what they're getting. Please read it if you want to buy. G14 Laptop: Specs: 4900HS 2060 Max-Q 1TB SSD 16GB RAM 1080p 120Hz Important Information: The physical condition of the laptop is pretty much perfect. I can't see any dings, dents, chips or scratches on the body or screen. I cut a marble white dBrand skin to put on the lid, so it's been protected from dust and whatnot. The cut isn't perfect, slightly too big, so you can take off the excess or just remove the skin outright if you want. Comes with the original box, charger, and documentation. Common G14 Issues vs this unit: The keyboard backlighting on this unit is about on par with most G14s. Not a problem in low light, but patchy and dim in bright light. I have not had any speaker pops or crackling whatsoever. No crashes, BSODs, black screens, etc. Perfectly stable for me. Some people report coil whine on their G14s that only goes away with max keyboard brightness. I can't hear any coil whine on this one with the keyboard on or off, even on fanless mode. There is a very, very slight amount when you press your ear to the keyboard, but not audible at all at a regular distance. No difference with keyboard backlighting. I use fanless mode with light usage, regular fans with moderate usage, and performance fan profile with heavy usage/gaming. I haven't heard any fan rattle on my unit with any fan curve I've tried, just the woosh from the airflow. Out of the box the G14 is known to have bad thermals, this one initially did too for me. It quickly spiked to over 100C on the CPU under a combined CPU + GPU stress test, and settled around the mid 90s long term. The GPU reached 88C and averaged around 84C long term. I did not want to disable boosting because I needed single threaded performance for the games I played, so instead I opened the laptop up and applied liquid metal to both CPU and GPU. With liquid metal, it still briefly spikes to the mid 90s, sometimes high 90s, on the CPU, but only for a few instants. No 100+ anymore. It ends up averaging in the mid to high 80s long term instead of 90s. The GPU now reaches 82ish max, and average 78C-80C. Temps are about the same when stress testing and when playing demanding games. I did not measure noise before and after, but subjectively it seems like fan noise has also been reduced under load. Fan noise does bother me, so I did not try increasing fan speed beyond the stock curves, but if you wanted to I'm sure you could get better thermal performance with the LM and higher speed fans, and even better with boost disabled. I have had the laptop in my backpack a few times and I've left it sitting vertically overnight a few times to check that the LM won't seep out from regular use/backpack carrying, and it has held up great. Absolutely no crashes or failures to boot or any other instability from the LM. I also applied liquid electrical tape around both dies to insulate in case of seepage. In my view the LM is a win-win because it's already been applied with insulation and the laptop now has great performance, under-control thermals and reasonable fan noise, but it's still liquid metal so I figure anybody interested in this unit should know. And finally, every time I left it plugged in for a while I set the max charge to 60% through MyASUS, so battery health should be pretty good. Thanks for getting through the wall of text, let me know if you have any more questions. I'm looking to get 1250 shipped for this guy, comment and PM if you're interested. Razer Blackwidow Lite TKL Keyboard: Barely used, great condition, tactile Razer Orange switches (MX Brown clones), white backlighting. Comes with original box and documentation and foam TKL-sized wrist rest. $55 shipped. Thank you, stay safe everyone. [link] [comments]
