Are all GPUs/CPUs binned versions of one silicon design?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 04:19 PM PDT

I've gathered that non-i9 Core iX processors are typically lower binned i9 chips with parts fused off, and the same is true for non-2080Ti Nvidia cards.

My question is: are Celerons/Pentiums—and likewise GT 1030 and MX350—just really awful i9's and xx80 Ti's?

Bonus points if you can explain laptop SKUs

Edit: Why am I being downvoted for a legitimate question? Reddit is cruel, man
