How come computer equipment hasn't moved to 24V or even 48V?

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 01:56 PM PDT

Earlier today there was an article about nVidia's new 12-pin power supply. GPUs in general are quite power hungry, and so are some CPUs. Why are we still using 12V internally in computer systems? Going to 24V or 48V would lower current requirements in cabling, and could increase efficiency in power supplies and power regulators.

    SSDs - Game Performance

I see lots of gamers on Reddit wanting to buy TLC drives (like the 970 EVO or SN750) or worry about read/write speeds too much when it has been proven that the difference in loading times between a QLC SSDs (like the Intel 660p and Crucial P1), gen4 SSDs, TLC SSDs, and SATA SSDs are negligible. Is there anything else I'm missing?

Why does it seem like gamers want to spend money on fast drives like the 970 EVO when they can just buy the Intel 660p or Crucial P1?
