Optane works great for virtual RAM Posted: 04 May 2020 12:36 PM PDT I've been thinking for many months about expanding my RAM, since rendering Ultra quality dense clouds in Metashape is very memory intensive. PC Specs: Number of photos: 162 64GB RAM 3,5GB RAM + 27GB Optane Virtual Memory The memory was limited in msconfig, and the vertual memory assigned through the tool native to Windows 10. I also tried to play Forza Horizon 4 on the 3,5 + 27GB setup in my usual 4K resolution. With these results i feel confident to save for a used Optane 900P for this specific use. [link] [comments] |
