When did cases drop the optical drive trays? Posted: 03 Mar 2020 01:39 PM PST Random question, just curious. When did the first cases not have the disc drive trays and when did it become the norm? [link] [comments] |

Is it safe to keep/buy an out of warranty but perfectly working PSU? Posted: 04 Mar 2020 02:18 AM PST After the Q&A PT1 video of Hardware Unboxed of last month, I would like to hear more opinions about this topic. They reached out to Buildzoid to answer a question (does PSU degrade over time?) and at the end he suggested to consider replacing the power supply unit when it is out of warranty. Tim and Steve said that PSUs are tested to work for that amount of time and that considering how bad the consequences of a malfunciotn can be, they agree with him. What do you think about it? I get their point and I think I agree. Do you think that that is the case even with high end PSUs?. Like, say, a Corsair AX or an EVGA P2? Anyway, there are other components that are used for years after the warranty period which malfunction can end up with a really serious problem. For example an SSD or an HDD if your data are important to you. [link] [comments] |
