Hardware support: Sometime last year, SSDs cost as little as 7.8¢/GB. Now the cheapest one is 9.5¢/GB. What's the matter? I thought SSD costs-per-GB were trending downward, so why are prices going up for them?

What's the story behind SSD costs-per-GB going up again?

I hope that one day, SSDs' costs-per-GB will catch up to and reach parity with the spinning HDDs' costs-per-GB.

A lot of HDDs are made in Thailand, and there were floods there years ago that caused their prices to spike. Where are SSDs mostly made, and what happened in those parts of the world that caused the price rise for them?

Hardware book update to these days

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 09:00 AM PST

    Hi everybody,

I've found the book I was looking, little problem is that is just a bit (too much) old.

The title of the book is: "The Indispensable PC Hardware Book" by Hans-Peter Messmer .

From the description: "'indispensable' to anyone who wants to know more about the inner workings of a personal computer: from programmers who want access to hardware components; "

Do you know anything like this updated to these days?
