What is your most hoped for technical innovation or improvement in the coming years? Posted: 09 Feb 2020 04:08 PM PST I'll take cheap(er) HBM, myself. That would be a tech that would certainly improve GPU a lot. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 10 Feb 2020 01:27 AM PST Even if 8k don't make a lot of sense just yet, there should be a lot more of 5120×2880 6016x3384 or 5120x2160 ultra wide monitors at 60Hz or even 90Hz at a reasonable price for those who play other things than shooters and also like to edit photo and video and productivity in general. What's wrong with you kiddos with this nonsense fps/hz race? [link] [comments] |
Why are nanometer sizes on CPUs such a big deal nowadays? Posted: 09 Feb 2020 02:09 PM PST I dont really get it. I mean, I do get that it might be a big thing for tech-savvy people, but these days people keep throwing around how awesome it is that Ryzen runs on 7nm and stuff. I keep seeing all these articles and forum posts, praising that Ryzen runs on 7nm. And Im almost certain that most people hav no idea what it means on a practical sense. Why should the consumer care about it? If a 10nm CPU perfomce just as fine or even better than a 7nm CPU, why the hell should anyone care? What matters for the consumer is the perfomance, not technical stuff like the size. So is there more behind it or is itreally mostly a nice new marketing scheme to throw around a term that sounds important? [link] [comments] |
