Extensive historical data collected by Pieter-Jan Plaisier (former Hwbot manager)

Default CPU Frequency and overclocked CPU Frequency records: https://hanweiconsulting.com/cpu-frequency-world-record-history/

Intel Cinebench R11.5 thread count and performance (overclocked): https://hanweiconsulting.com/intel-cinebench-r11-5-generational-progression/

AMD Cinebench R11.5 thread count and performance (overclocked): https://hanweiconsulting.com/amd-cinebench-r11-5-generational-progression/

    DDR/DDR2/DDR3/DDR4 Memory Frequency (overclocked): https://hanweiconsulting.com/memory-frequency-world-record-history/

edit: Mistakenly wrote "Base CPU Frequency". It's "Default CPU Frequency", which includes max turbo clocks.

do any modern *laminated* monitors exist? i wonder what you think.

    Posted: 18 Feb 2020 03:20 PM PST

With the exception of Apple, why do they not exist? All i want is a 4k, 27-28 inch display with 120Hz and passable color. even a Tn panel would be fine. why glossy?

    -better, vivid colors

-no grainy image (especially visible when reading text on a white background)

    -better blacks and contrast

-slightly sharper because light from the panel is not scattered by the matte film

Of course i mean proper ones, not the ones you find on dirt cheap/old acer laptops. Just one brand could make a few now and sell it when advertised and marketed properly to stand out from the rest.

Somehow pretty much every 4k television i see in the store is glossy(probably because above reasons too). On laptops matte is fine because the environment changes but on a desktop monitor that rarely changes position you can control the light in your home with curtains, blinds or other ways.

if you're already used to matte panels it's a bit hard to notice but for me seeing such a screen feels like on of these is put on it: https://imgur.com/a/EJhTLFn (the image is an extreme exaggeration. it's just to provide context and show what i mean) This is the main thing still keeping me on my HP X2301.

    What do you think?
