Custom PC inside Xbox One S (i5 8400, 1060, 1TB m2) Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:20 PM PST Pictures - https://imgur.com/a/KuitF39 Built this in about a week after being inspired by (Link) About the tightest fit of components in this case since I wanted a bottom intake for the GPU and a full sized card. Looking to build a second one and improve on some things including the MB mounting, IO shield compatibility, front panel buttons. Still need to add an LED to the power button and possibly the xbox sound on startup with a speaker. At what point does it start to become worth it to upgrade an rx580 8gb or similar GPU? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:25 AM PST Like, upgrading to a 1070 is not a big performance gain to pay for. At what point does it really start to pay off? Its also worth noting i have the worst RX580 model (MSI ARMOR), its loud, hot, and doesnt clock well. Its also sagging enough where it wont screw into the side of my case, albeit also a shitty case lol. Currently at 1080p 144hz competitive gaming but also play stuff like CodMW , Project cars, and apex [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:52 AM PST Hello, Finally finished my dual PC build and thought id share the end result. This is my first solo build. Case http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-719.html PC 1 - Gaming PC/Programming PC Motherboard - ASUS TUF H370-PRO Gaming Ram - 32gig - Corsair Vengeance 16gig DDR4 3000mhz Processor - Intel Core i7-8700 Video Card - Gigabyte RTX 2070 Drive 1 - Evo 970 m2.0 1TB (OS and Programming) Drive 2 - Inland Premium 2TB M.2 ( Games and shit) PC 2 - Streaming/Multimedia/PlexServer/Rendering PC Motherboard - Gigabyte B450 I Aorus Pro WIFI Ram - G.Skll Ripjaws 16GB 3200 Processor - Ryzen 5 3400G (wanted integrated graphics) Video Card - None Drive1 - Inland Premium 512g m.2 (OS) Drive2 - Western Digital 4TB (Plex/Multimedia/YoutubeVideos) Drive3 - Western Digital 4TB (Plex/Multimedia/YoutubeVideos) *Havent made the plex server a raid yet but might in the future* Shared Power Supply - Phanteks 80+ Platinum dual system 1200W Monitors Setup (Left to right) Monitor 1 - PC 2, standard 1080 acer. Nothing special Monitor 2 - PC 1, Acer Predator 34-Inch curved ultrawide (1440) Gsync Monitor 3 - PC 1, Acer 75hz 1440p Dual System Software - for ease i found Synergy. Which is a software where i can seemlessly move my mouse and keyboard between two systems without having to use a physical KVM. One PC is the hose and other is the client and it talks to each other. Found little to no issues with the software. Pretty seemless. Control F1 takes me to PC2 Control F2 takes me to PC1 Soundbar - Razer leviathan i picked this because i could use bluetooth for one system and AUX for another. So all i have to do is press a button to swap between the two. Fans are connected gaming PC via USB 2.0 and 2 commander pros daisy chained. Two lighting nodes are also connected to these commander pros. Just upgraded from Wraith Stealth to Noctua NH-U12S on Ryzen 5 3600 Posted: 01 Feb 2020 11:31 AM PST Wow, what a difference. The stock cooler was driving me mental with how loud it was. It sounded like there was a vacuum cleaner in my room turning on and off while gaming. I stress tested my system just now and max temp on the cpu was 61.8 C and it was more or less silent. Idle is around 30 C. Previously, idle was around 45 and during load would get up to 80ish. Just thought I would share my experience in case anyone else was unhappy with the wraith cooler that comes bundled with the new r5 3600. PC shutdown mid game and won't boot until 10 minutes later. No power outages Posted: 01 Feb 2020 10:27 AM PST So I had this Ryzen 3900X build since July and recently the power button no longer worked for a good 10 minutes after shutdown during gaming. Motherboard lights are still on though, Asus X570 Crosshair VIII Hero Temps during gaming are 70c on both CPU and GPU, 35c on VRM. I have about 8 fans for airflow and don't use liquid cooling. PSU is Seasonic 850W Gold Focus Plus What caused the power buttons (mobo and case) to stop working? And is it a bad sign of CPU becoming faulty? I hope you guys are still willing to check newbies on their proposed builds Posted: 01 Feb 2020 12:34 PM PST This is a build I am hoping to do as my first PC. The graphics card is not the one listed but its as close as PC Part Picker had. The one i found was a Gigabyte GeForce 1660 DirectX 6GB. Super green to this so i'm hoping that one will work. And PC part picker didn't have the case I want which is the darkflash Water Square 5 Black ATX Mid-Tower. Please feel free to let me know if you see any issues with compatibility or if you have any suggestions. I mostly will be using it for light gaming. No AAA games that i can think of. Maybe a little Fortnite but mostly things like Civ 5 or Farm Sim or other non-graphics intensive games. Edit: Also I was wanting to put a version of Linux on this. What are peoples opinions on doing Linux as their operating system on their builds. Posted: 31 Jan 2020 06:47 PM PST The Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WIFI motherboard has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C port, which it says is supposed to be a front port. Do I have to have a case with a USB-C port on the top of it to use that port, or is this not the case? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I'm new to PC building and want to perfectly plan out my PC build before saving up money.

Strix 2080 Ti Custom Fan Curve? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 10:37 AM PST Hi all, just installed my strix 2080 ti and installed asus gpu tweak ii. I'm trying to set a custom fan curve but I don't see the option in the program. https://imgur.com/a/jc0XXLy The other two available options are target framerate and display refresh rate. Is there something else I need to do? [link] [comments]
Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ($165) VS Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS Wi-Fi ($190) Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:36 PM PST Hi. I've choosed the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS Wi-Fi at 190 bucks for my next build but I just found this cheaper non Wi-Fi version Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS at 165 bucks. Theres any difference between the two other the Wi-Fi thing? I've heard that the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS Wi-Fi is recommended but even if I assume the non Wi-Fi version is literally the same, just without Wi-Fi, I'm not 100% sure, so that's why I'm asking anyways. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:36 PM PST I have recently made some changes in CPU cooling from H90(140mm) to H115i(280mm). The problem is, now the whole case gets bit too warm, and GPU will reach 78-80c while before it was 74c max. I was planning to overclock GPU too, but I'm afraid to do so.(Fans are louder too now btw) Also I think I made cable management better than before(Rathole vs managed), So I have no idea how it's like this. Does anyone have any suggestions? PC case : CoolerMaster HAF XB EVO CPU/Cooler : i7-8086K oc to 5Ghz(1.35V)/H115i with 2*140mm fans GPU : RTX 2080Ti Sys fan : 1*120mm/1*200mm fan [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:33 PM PST I'm looking into switching out my 1070 for either a 1080 or 2070 because I'm currently running 4 monitors and I'm worried it'll fry my GPU, but not sure if it's compatible with my current motherboard. i have a Z370-A-PRO. Should i chamcey power supply? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:20 PM PST I bought a new pc 10 months ago, with a Thermaltake tr2 500w, by that time i didn't have a gpu yet and it worked fine. When i bought the Rx 570 (used (2 months)) my computer started to randomly shut down itself. It doesn't happen everytime, maybe once or twice a week, and not exactly when gaming, but i know the gpu needs 450w and while the tr2 is 500w it isn't certified, so maybe that is the problem? Case: Sentey G18 Gpu: XFX Rx570 Ram: 8 gb sport balistix crucial ( can't recall the speed atm) Cpu: Ryzen 3 2200g Storage: 1tb hdd (i think Samsung, but it can be western digital) Mother: Gigabyte b450m ds3h Thanks in advance! Missing front panel connectors? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:18 PM PST So I'm putting together my pc, waiting for my cpu to arrive tomorrow. My case seems to only have HDD led and Power switch front panel connectors. There are no reset or PWR led connectors. Is this supposed to be like that? Also, does anyone know what the 12V front panel connector is for? Lastly what does a pwm fan header on the mobo look like? I can't seem to find mine. The mobo is a MSI B450-A Pro Max. I also can't seem to put in my gpu at all. I'm trying to put it in gently and using a lot of strength but neither seems to work. Apart from that, everything else seems to have gone surprisingly easy. Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:07 PM PST https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HQK9tp I put this together, can anyone confirm that this is a valid build? Its for my hs team so we dont have much budget. My main concern is that 8gb ram wont be enough. [link] [comments]
New build does not boot to POST Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:06 PM PST ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, MSI Radeon RX 5500 XT video card, OLOy 16 GB DDR4 3200 RAM, Corsair HX 520W PSU, Gigabyte 240GB SSD, ASUS BD/DVD/CD disk drive I've got everything plugged in, and when I power up all the fans spin and the appropriate lights come on, but nothing shows up on my monitor. I've tried the video card in both slots, I've taken everything apart multiple times. I've RMA'd the motherboard. I've used the monitor on another computer to test it. I'm out of ideas of what to do next, and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
Almost ready to buy! Looking for build feedback :-) Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:04 PM PST Been saving for a long time and finally looking to upgrade my PC from what I bought nearly a decade ago. Below is a link to the build. My budget was no more than $3000 CAD. My intent is to not have to spend anything on it for another 3 years. I predominantly play a lot of high CPU demanding Grand Strategy Games (Stellaris, Total War etc) and would like to get into some audio/video editing as a hobby this summer. Looking for feedback of any sort. Only thing I am picky on is a white or silver case that isnt full of USB 2.0 ports. Not super sold with my final case choice but didn't see anything better. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/SasquatchEsq/saved/PYBZZL Edit1: got some messages about the Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL being a better case for that range. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
