Hey this is Intel Graphics, we want your feedback! (also thoughts on the DG1 SDV?) Posted: 09 Jan 2020 10:11 AM PST In one week (Jan 16th, 9AM PT) we will be hosting our next AYA on r/intel! Come let our engineers and execs know what graphics software features and experiences you want to see brought to life in your favorite games and applications!Last year (or should I say decade lol) we flipped the Reddit AMA on its head and hosted our first two Reddit AYAs (Ask You Anything), where we ask YOU the questions. For the AYAs, we get a bunch of our engineers and graphics execs on a call together and engage with the community directly on a thread for an hour or more. Asking for your (the community's) feedback and then actually going and making some of the requested changes. (more on the way btw) See our past AYAs here: First : Second Our next AYA is on Jan 16th at 9AM PT on r/Intel! Come help shape the future of the graphics software features and experiences we'll be providing! See you there? Also, seen the DG1 SDV yet? We showed it to press yesterday and are sampling to software partners now, what do you think? (I've also noticed some rumors floating around on Reddit - DG1 will be a consumer part) [link] [comments] |

SSD overprovisioning vs leaving blank space Posted: 09 Jan 2020 11:18 PM PST Would leaving unpartitioned space at the end of the drive have the same effect as setting the OEM tool to overprovision that space? Would the only difference consist in the fact that the OEM tool overprovisioning would actually hide the space or is there something else happening at the controller level which make the OEM solution better? Seagate Demonstrates HAMR and Dual-Actuator Hard Drives in the Lyve Drive Mobile System Posted: 09 Jan 2020 11:27 AM PST We had a couple of big announcements @ CES The first was a couple of external SSD products (PR announcement here), which you can learn more about here The second was our Lyve Drive (PR announcement here), and since it involves several of our new technologies (HAMR, Mach.2 dual-actuator drives) and 18TB Exos drives, we figured you might want to check out the Anandtech article here. Trying to find a specific product Posted: 10 Jan 2020 01:39 AM PST I'm trying to find a product that is a USB Switch (has inputs to 2 or more computers), and output ports for all my USB devices. The rub is that I want to have individual switches/buttons for each USB port to select whether it goes to PC1 or PC2. When searching for "USB Switch" I find products that have a single button that alternates ALL ports to one PC or the other. Can anyone give me the correct nomenclature to search for the device I'm trying to find? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2020 01:03 AM PST I am asking out of curiosity but also because I was surprised about a new GPU family was going to be released this year. The 2080ti is so powerful already for the current gen that it makes no sense to me to release a new card. I am guessing they are finally guaranteeing 4k 60 fps ultra? [link] [comments] |
