Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB performance drop after firmware upgrade Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:32 PM PST So, performance dropped after firmware upgrade. New firmware is rvt04b6q. (NOT REALLY!) UPDATE 1: Drive formatted and trimmed. Same thing. UPDATE 2: SSD was connected to one of the two built in ASMedia Sata ports. The other port was connected to an HDD. I connected the SDD to the Intel Chipset sata port and... So, what was it? The ASMedia Sata or connecting SDD and HDD to the same controller? [link] [comments] |

When do you see fully path traced AAA games being a thing? Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:53 AM PST Like Quake II RTX but with everything else up to date. Clearly that is far, FAR beyond the capabilities of a Titan RTX, but maybe 4 more generations of gpus? By the end of this decade would we see it happening? [link] [comments] |

ARM performance limitations vs x86 cpus Posted: 12 Jan 2020 09:47 AM PST With Apple considering moving to ARM chips for their macbooks, I'm curious which applications will suffer the most? I'm not a fan of looking at geekbench, because it only seems to reflect the burst performance of most chips and not sustained workloads. Most curious about my common use cases:

Posted: 13 Jan 2020 01:26 AM PST I was looking for a secondary screen that i could use for my laptop that is portable and doesn't suck much power (maybe even work off of usb) and uses the hdmi port. Since amazon doesnt ship here, I'd appreciate if the option's from aliexpress (alike) and under 60USD [link] [comments] |
