Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:56 AM PST Quite simply the title. How can Ryzen & Threadripper 3xxx chips score effectively double the FX 8370 in single thread Cinebench R15 when everything is locked at 3500MHz? What makes this possible? [link] [comments] |

Should I use Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 for my new SSD? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 01:39 AM PST Actually I think Windows 8.1 is a faster operating system than Windows 10.I can feel that it is a system that is free from redundancy and reacts faster.I don't want to start a "better than Windows 10" discussion, these are just what I feel. I was using HDD before. These observations I mentioned were valid for the HDD.So should I install Windows 10 on my newly purchased SSD? Or is it a problem if I continue with Windows 8.1? AMD has surpassed Intel in single core performance Posted: 30 Jan 2020 11:36 PM PST As the title suggests, some AMD CPUs beat the top Intel CPUs (9900KF) when it comes to raw single thread performance. I came across this website https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/ that records synthetic benchmarks (Cinebench, Geekbench, Passmark) for most CPUs. I have cross checked their numbers with the big reviewers TPU, HW Unboxed, GamersNexus, Paul's HW, BitWit, Jayz2cents and they do indeed match up. The reason why AMD falls behind in gaming (although by a small margin on average) is the latencies in Ryzen's architecture and optimizations. [link] [comments] |
