Why has SSD prices been so stagnant? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 12:23 AM PST In terms of speed, SSDs have improved massively but in terms of gigabyte/$, there has been a relative stagnation. SSDs were already "fast enough" for most workloads 5 years ago but the cost curve has been going down very slowly. Instead most of the improvements went into much faster speeds rather than higher storage. Why is this? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Dec 2019 12:27 PM PST AFAIK, all external power supplies sold in USA must comply with DoE Level VI since February 2016. Sources:
Yet, none of Apples listed power supplies has higher efficiency than DoE Level V. This is true both for all units my gilfriend owns; charger for iPhone SE and charger for iPad 7, but also according to Apple support site:
Why is it that Apple seemingly does not have to comply to these almost 4 year old requirements? [link] [comments] |
