A second reviewer confirmed the RX 5500 xt pci-e x8 limitation

The only source is in German but another reviewer also confirmed this: https://youtu.be/R04E5Y_hUkI

From what I can tell, it seems that it's moreso 1080p where the card is fast enough to render images but gets bottlenecked at the transfer rate. 1440p the card moreso gets bottlenecked via throughput so less of an issue there.

    Mechanical Insertion of transistor Channels

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 08:50 PM PST

Hey guys, recently a completed a course on microfabrication where I learned transistor channels can be formed through doping or through epitaxy. However, I was thinking for heterojunction transistors instead of growing III-V material on the substrate, why not create wafers of the channel material and then make slices the size of the desired channel and then insert them into the channels of said transistor and then use thermal annealing to seal gaps. Would this be feasible?

(Question) Storing my all games in new hard drive

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 11:50 PM PST

Many of games stored in DVD and it may easily damage and can't restore games from it. That's why planning to store all (100%) games to my 4 TB HDD which there's no tension of getting scratched. Is my idea good?

Sorry for any mistakes, this is my first post in this sub.

Can anybody explain how Zhaoxin suddenly achieved 80% of AMD x86 performance when they dont even have the x86 license?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 08:39 AM PST

I'm referring to https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/zhaoxin/microarchitectures/lujiazui How is that possible that on a market where the only companies allowed to make x86 CPUs are Intel and AMD they produce an x86 processor? Since it's not available anywhere outside China does it contain stolen IP? Any explanation is appreciated!
