AMD Radeon RX 6600 Performance Summary vs RDNA1/2, Turing, Ampere

    Posted: 31 Oct 2021 06:10 AM PDT

    • compilation of 8 launch reviews with ~2250 gaming benchmarks at all resolutions
    • only benchmarks at real games compiled, not include any 3DMark & Unigine benchmarks
    • geometric mean in all cases
    • mostly launch reviews with complete adoption of rBAR & SAM were evaluated (exeption: Tom's Hardware)
    • standard performance without ray-tracing and/or DLSS/FSR, extra ray-tracing benchmarks at 1080p
    • stock performance on (usual) reference/FE boards, no overclocking
    • factory oc'ed cards were normalized to reference clocks/perf., but just for the overall performance average
    • performance average is (moderate) weighted in favor of reviews with more benchmarks
    • power consumption for the GPU only, no system power draw
    • for the full results and some more explanations check 3DCenter's launch analysis

Will Alder Lake be as significant an advance for laptops as well?

    Posted: 31 Oct 2021 11:52 AM PDT

I've been hearing great things about Alder Lake for PCs, so it has me thinking about the Alder Lake laptop CPUs about to be released. Does anyone know if they will be just as big an improvement for laptops, or will other factors like heat limit the performance gains?

Also, does Alder Lake in general affect performance as much on its own, or is it more to do with the DDR5 RAM? Does Alder Lake overcome the GPU bottleneck?

Which cards were the worst in history performance improvement wise?

    Posted: 31 Oct 2021 04:43 AM PDT

I don't really remember any cards that stood out especially from Nvidia, when it comes to CPU's then there was a lot of terrible CPU's in the past and in recent decade, I don't remember any GPU's that stood out though, overheating was one of the problems but when it comes to performance improvements which series do you think were the worst?
