What are the roadblocks to shrinking rj45/ethernet? Posted: 09 Jun 2021 04:33 PM PDT The trend for laptops to get thinner and thinner with #donglelife is aggravating me. My t440s is quite thin, and it doesn't even have the new ethernet port that "expands" to accommodate the ethernet plug. I know getting new standards are always difficult, but given that both consumers and oems seem to be happy to remove these ports leads me to believe that the industry wants them to die or that they want to save costs by removing the circuitry required on board. I just want a thin laptop with ethernet, sd card, piv card, and headphone jacks, but all those seem to be actively being killed off. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 07:49 PM PDT I mean, it is smaller than SATA, fast as M.2, can have bigger capacities, so why it is not an industrie standard? [link] [comments] |
Phanteks Phakes Alder Lakes in New CPU Cooler Posted: 10 Jun 2021 02:53 AM PDT Though you might like the title, given how often we're strung along by pre-release announcements that appear to be product launches ;) [link] [comments] |
