Edit: Just to clarify, this is any peer-to-peer transaction. The reason I ask is that I'm looking to buy a 5950x brand new unopened, but before I buy I'm considering asking the seller to test it, since they also bought it from someone else.

PC building parts that go with Ryzen 9 5900x and RTX 3090

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:35 AM PDT

    Hello!

I am really interested to build my first PC! A little background about myself. I mostly work with programming, virtual machines and I am a machine learning enthusiast. Since my laptop didn't work for my purpose, I will soon be building a custom PC for my use case.

These are the only parts that I have confirmed so far: Ryzen 9 5900X and RTX 3090.

Could you please help me with the parts that should go with both of them?

    1. I am thinking of going all white. So maybe white case?
    2. min. 32 GB RAM
    3. Motherboard
    4. PSU
    5. Air cooler
    6. Storage
    7. Any other parts that I should be aware of that need to be compatible with both of them?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated! Thank you.

Ok so I had a build 10 years ago and I wanted to make a new build since probably my potato pc can't reuse any of it's old components.

My old pc uncase anything can be reused.

Now I've been out of the loop for the past 10 years unfortunately so the new pc build I scrounged up might not be too optimal for what I have in mind, which is a mid-tier pc for gaming.

Now I'm aware the graphics card market is fucked right not so I didn't include a graphics card here, and thinking of just getting the rest of the parts now and getting that gcard later when the market calms down a bit. I also didn't include another HDD storage drive since I'm thinking I can reuse my old one (hopefully).

My budget is 2500-3000 usd$ without the peripherals. Since I have no idea if this list is good or not I hope you guys can help me improve it, if it can be improved.

What CPU is the best to pair with an RX5700 X?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 08:27 AM PDT

I currently have an RX5700 X and a Ryzen 5 1600x that I've had since 2018, I've been thinking for some time to upgrade my CPU, so I thought I'd ask for some suggestions. I was thinking to either get the R2600 or R3600. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Edit: Should add I'm only playing at 1080p, I'm not sure I even want to play at 1440p in the future and this purely a gaming build, I won't be doing any editing or anything CPU intensive like that.

Reinstalling Windows on an already used SSD?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:46 AM PDT

I already know about reinstalling windows, installing the ISO on a flash drive, and unplugging the Harddrive that it's currently on while booting etc. But I got a 1 tb M.2 SSD and it already has some stuff stored on it. Don't I have to wipe it completely before putting windows on it? If so, how do I do that the safest way. (I'm new to building) Or can I just got ahead and try installing it how it is

    PC crashes while playing games

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 08:24 AM PDT

Hello! I am having an issue with my pc. When I play certain games, it completely crashes and shuts off. The only games that do not shut off are non intensive games like geometry dash and overwatch. The games that crash are fortnite, rainbow 6 siege, and call of duty: war zone.

My specs are intel i9-10850k, 850w silver stone fully modular, Asrock z590 steel legend wifi 6e Silver stone spf 360 aio 2x16 trident z RAM

    and an Asus GT 1030.

Yes I know what you are going to say, the GT 1030 is bad and causes bottleneck. I bought it as a replacement until I could get a RTX 3080, 3080ti or 3090. All of the parts are compatible according to pc part picker. But I still have this issue. If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it!

Should I sell one of my GTX 1080tis?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 10:09 AM PDT

I wanted to upgrade to RTX 3070 by selling both my GTX 1080ti SLI because I heard that SLI support might disappear in future games. Since new cards are impossible to get hands on at MSRP, I considering selling one of my 1080ti cuz I mostly play Valorant but wanna be able to play BF2042 too at high fps. Should I sell my card for 6500SEK or keep it futureproof?

ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 only running at 4x

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 07:55 AM PDT

Just got an ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 to replace my 4TB WB Black HDD because it's so loud. I wanted to add two 2TB M.2 and two 1TB, but I'm fine with just the two TB at the least. Before purchasing, I double checked that my motherboard was compatible and I thought it was. I have an MSI MPG Gaming Edge AC. It has 3 PCIe x16 slots that can run at x16/x0/x4 or x8/x8/x4. However, I can't get the ASUS card to show up with more than x4 in the x8 slot as only one of the 2TB M.2 cards is being recognized. Does anyone have any solutions, advice, or more information on how to get this to work?

    Current System

Processor: Intel i9 9900K Motherboard: MSI MPG Gaming Edge AC CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE ELITE CAPELLIX 360mm RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V (4x16GB) On-Board Storage: Intel 665 1TB M.2 and SanDisk Ultra 1TB M.2 Additional Storage: WD Black 4TB GPU: ASUS TUF 3060TI Case: Corsair iCUE 465x

    Adding

    ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 (2) Mushkin Pilot-E 2TB (Possibly 2 more 1TB M.2)

Will this build perform well enough for 3-5 years?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 10:04 AM PDT

I'm new to pc's and I decided that I wanted to build one. My main goal is to get like 100+fps at 1440p on games like Apex, Warzone and Valorant. Will this last for the next 3-5 years? I'm hoping that it will. In 3-5 years I think 4k @ 120fps may be the norm. Then I could just upgrade.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:54 AM PDT

because of the current prices a gtx 1650 costs double a 1050 2gb price in my country which would be all my budget.so i was thinking should i get a gtx 1650 alone or a gtx 1050 2gb + another stick of ram so thats 16gb now and a 512GB m.2 and i would have some money left for a case or a headset?
    Note: i play mostly e sports titles and i have a ryzen 5 1600af

Just need some help choosing a monitor .

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:51 AM PDT

Eyup, decided that I'm going to build a pc (typing this out on an aio with a 9 year old pentium) and need to buy a monitor for it too . My requirements were 1080p and 144hz and my favorites are the Asus tuf vg249q (https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-VG249Q-Monitor-FreeSync-DisplayPort/dp/B0829S7178/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=ASUS+TUF+Gaming+VG249Q&qid=1623516095&sr=8- )
and the Dell s2422hg ( couldn't find it on the English amazon page)

The dell monitor has g-sync (going to use a 3060) and a va panel while the asus monitor has free sync and an ips display. Is it really worth using a worse display for g sync or is there even a better option than these two that is around 200 bucks?

    pls halp

Mounting 360 rad with fans to front of case question.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:49 AM PDT

I'm a pretty experienced PC builder but I recently had a thought. One of the biggest pains is mounting a radiator to the front of a case with the fans facing out. Currently on my build I had to "hang" all the fans in position by inserting all the screws into position on the front of the case, then sliding the fans on to the screws, then carefully position the rad behind the fans and quickly threading the screws.

This is a real struggle as the fans and screws want to come out of position very easily.

Is there a bracket or a plate of some sort that acts like a adapter to bolt everything together first and then affix it to the front or top of a case? I've tried searching online but it's so specific of a thing (that may not even exist) so I've had no luck.

Arctic Accelero Extreme III fans won't spin

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 07:36 AM PDT

I recently got this cooler for my 1080 ROG Strix (replacing a waterblock), install seems to have went fine, the GPU works. But the fans won't spin.

I'm using the attached molex converter and I've tried it with a few different cables, including off a molex cable powering other fans.

Are my fans just broken? Is there any way to attach the fans directly to the GPU? The 4-pin fan connector doesn't seem to fit in the 4-pin mobo slots and my GPU fan slots don't have a 4-pin that will fit. Could I force it in the 5- or 6-pin slot?

It's been hard finding information about this cooler.

    144hz 1440p 24" monitor under 300€?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:40 AM PDT

I am going to get a PC this year (hopefully) whether it is with a GPU or not. I currently have a 75hz 1080p 24 inch Acer monitor I use for gaming which I plan on using as my second monitor later on for my PC, paired with a 144hz 1440p monitor.

Now, because my current monitor is 24 inches, I want the 144hz one to be the same size. But when I looked into them, I noticed that that 27 inch ones are sold cheaper than the 24 inch ones, some under 300. But I cannot find a 24 inch monitor with the same specs that goes for less than 350 euros, dare I even say 300. So I thought maybe some people here know some monitors that fit those specs.

All help is appreciated and sorry for bad english :)

If it is important for shipping and stuff, I currently live in Germany

    I need a pre-built PC for 800$… any ideas?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:40 AM PDT

I wanna start streaming like others, but the only computer I have right now is a slow ass 2019 HP. I need something that can process faster, better quality graphics , smoothly running with no overheating, the works. Preferably with emphasis on streaming games from consoles like my PS5. Please drop any names or links to the pc with CURRENT prices. A pc that was 400$ 3 days ago may be 728$ now. Bonus, if you can drop a good monitor to go with it that'd be really helpful too. Thanks guys!!
