Intel lost the graphics market. Intel lost the mobile cpu market. What are the lessons? And has Intel demonstrated any behavior that they've learned them?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 04:33 PM PST

The title pretty much sums it up.

From an overwhelmingly dominant position in the 90's and 2000's, Intel managed to lose the two big logic markets, gpu's and mobile cpu's, to relative unknowns (Nvidia and ARM, respectively).

Has there been any analyses of their mistakes? Can anyone refer me to them?

Has Intel offered an explanation? Can anyone refer me to it?

The next big market looks like AI processors. Has Intel learned their lesson(s) from the gpu and mobile markets? Or are they committing the same mistakes?

Let me clarify my terms: mobile market refers to smartphones, not laptops.
