Posted: 18 Sep 2020 04:51 AM PDT Previously I tried ulmb multiple times and liked how it make image less blurry and more detailed. At the same time ulmb works best while you have constant refresh rate (usually at least 85 hz, but it looks better at 100 and 120 hz). And you can't use adaptive sync at the same time usually. The problem with ulmb is that if you can't sustain certain fps, lets say 120 hz, the moment you go to 119 fps or lower, you loose clarity, vsync upsides (no stuttering, no tears) and, depending on ulmb implementation in display, brightness level will start to fluctuate. Now that, finally, STABLE 1440p 120/144 hz on ultra settings, looks like reality with 3080, does switching from adaptive sync to black frame insertion make more sense than not? Downside would be: vsync lag. Upside: less blurred image, and also as side effect of limiting fps (which also can be achieved without ulmb) - stable frame times and less watt usage on hungry (320 Wt) 3080. [link] [comments] |
