Difference between CPU cores workload being individual vs shared? Posted: 25 May 2020 10:38 PM PDT basically the title. To explain what i mean: i remembered a guy showed me some years ago one app (forgot the name) that allows you to modify the workload on the cpu cores - one of the options was having all the workload be shared on all the cores (i.e on R7 2700X all 8 cores get loaded 20% (or any other number)) instead of having the workload as you usually see it (same CPU as earlier but you just see for example the 1st core be more used than the 2nd, 2nd more/less used than the 3rd and so on) So now i'm thinking: what exactly are the pros and cons of this? I am asking from both a gaming point of view as well as a working one (as in: rendering videos, 3d scenes and so on) [link] [comments] |
