What is the state of the 4K computer monitors? (01/2021)

    Posted: 23 Jan 2021 01:46 AM PST

I hope that the post won't be removed as "purchase advice" since I'm not asking about any models but the state of the market in general...

I plan getting a 4K monitor, if only for the increased desktop space. Since HDR-support seems near-completely limited to the questionable "600" certification and OLED can't reasonably arrive any time soon, it's necessary to be able to disable the HDR.

At the earliest, when you'd expect the OLED monitors to arrive at the "consumer-level" (~$500-$750)? Is it sensible to wait or get some current model without deep blacks (or any)?
